Your Google analytics may carry many of accounts and associated properties. If you are seo developer or technical professional than the number of accounts are higher than expected. We don’t like to renew domains which are not performing well; in that case your domain will be down automatically.
If you will not delete those inactive properties from your analytics then it will full with junk data. It’s not hard to remove those unwanted property or entire account but in absence of enough online information people avoid it.
Here below are steps to remove junk properties from Google Analytics. They can be delete by three methods.
1. Delete specific property from your account
This option is useful for single or multiple non active domains.
– Login in your Analytics account
– Click admin
– Select particular account from dropdown of account
– Select property from specific account
– Click on property setting
– Click on “Move to Trash Can” button
– It will ask for confirmation
– Press Delete property
2. Delete specific account
Use this option if all domains associated with particular account are inactive.
– Login in your Analytics account
– Click admin
– Select particular account from dropdown of account
– Click on account setting
– Click on Trash account
3. Remove account as a third user
You can perform above steps if you are admin of that property or account. Your client must give you permission of super admin. Please follow below steps for limited rights.
– Login in your Analytics account
– Click admin
– Select particular account from dropdown of account
– Click User Management
– Click “Remove myself from this account”
– System asks for confirmation, press “yes”
Remember that we can restore any account or property within 35 days after performing above procedure.
Steps to restore the deleted property or account
– Login in your Analytics account
– Click admin
– Select particular account from dropdown of account
– Click on account setting
– Click on Trash account
– Select the property which you want to restore, selecting all check box restore entire account.
– Click restore
