Within some days Indian government may boost customs duty on Smartphone from 15 percent to 20 percent, Apple India has announced a review in prices of iPhone and Apple Watch models. An increase of 3.6 percent has been experiential in the prices of iPhone models and up to 8.3 percent in prices of Apple watch models. The pricing of the iPhone SE remains unaffected.
Through the Union Budget 2018 declaration, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley declared that custom duty levied on import of mobile phones will be affected from the current 15 percent to 20 percent. Notice this rate was amplified from 10 percent to 15 percent in December last year. Through the latest price review the iPhone 6 (32GB) observes the biggest price jump of 3.6 percent.
